About the Author

Agustín Rivas was born in Culiacán, Sin. on December 6, 1962.
He is currently living in Mexicali, BC where he works as a dentist. Already with more than 35 years of experience, his practice is limited to the treatment of temporo-mandibular dysfunction, oral rehabilitation and smile design.
His first contact with poetry occurred when he was 8 years old, when reading a poetic anthology by Editorial Bruguera.
With more than 400 poems written to date, he writes his first attempt at a poem at the age of 24, something more like a letter, but where he is already leaving pieces of his soul in each letter.

The woman who resides ... who lives in my dreams

More than half of his poems have the same muse and were written between 2016 and 2019, after a brief reunion with a distant platonic love from his youth, where he was struck again by the great sweetness and extraordinary beauty of Gabriela - in a kind of déjà vu-- something very similar to what happened the first time he saw her, an experience that necessarily had to be translated into poems, giving rise to his book: "187 love poems for Gabriela."
