THE STAR AND THE CICADA

During a night when the moon did not rise,
a Cicada was conversing with his Star
and chatting that time like no other,
he could not believe he could talk to her.
And he opened his heart to her that night
and without sorrow, he told her how much he loved her,
of that love was heard singing with such splendor,
that with his song, he enraptured the Star.
He told her the story of an inconceivable love,
of the longing that always fueled his fire,
of the agony of knowing that it was impossible
for that Star to descend from the Sky.
And the Cicada sang his song with his soul
and to the night he gave shape to his feelings,
I have my doubts if he has shaken his Star,
but with his singing that night, he was dying.
And the singing of the Cicada it has never heard again,
her beautiful Star still illuminates his firmament,
no one loved her with such passion and so much claw,
nor has anyone loved her as I have loved her.
